A Leader In End-of-Life Care

Shoshana Ungerleider is a renowned physician, science journalist, and leading voice in end-of-life care.

She is the founder of End Well, the largest international nonprofit dedicated to transforming how we talk about, plan for, and experience the end of life—shifting culture through storytelling, design, and innovation. A practicing internal medicine doctor, Shoshana brings clinical insight to her award-winning media work, including the Oscar-nominated Netflix documentaries End Game and Extremis, and the NY Radio Award-winning podcast Before We Go.

Her deeply personal experience losing her father to pancreatic cancer and discovering her own BRCA2 mutation has fueled her mission to bring dignity, equity, and humanity to serious illness and caregiving. As the host of TED Health and a regular contributor to CNN, MSNBC, TIME, Scientific American, and more, she is reshaping national and global conversations around what it means to live—and die—well.
